Designer, entrepreneur, life coach, former fisherman, mother of five (and a lot more) Ágústa Margrét shares in a fun lively way insights from her 35 years of crafting and the 1,000-year story of Icelandic materials, craftsmanship and the deep connection between people and nature including information about: • Icelandic natural materials, handcraft techniques and how they have developed through history. • Traditional items such as sheep- and fish leather shoes, wool garments and protective clothing. • The journey from catching fish to working with fish leather, personal experience. • Contemporary use of the traditional natural materials in fashion, design and art. • The people, culture, creativity and opportunities in Hornafjörður.
